Why The Lawton. Why Cape Coast

As we prepare to open our doors in 2026, I am often asked about the inspiration behind the name — and the location.

I named this resort in his honor because his life was the true definition of quiet strength, pure elegance, and unwavering integrity. His word was his bond. His presence was calming. His heart was always turned toward home.

He believed Cape Coast — rich with memory, culture, and resilience — deserved to be cherished and showcased to the world.

And why Cape Coast? Because his love for this historic, coastal city was unmatched. He carried this city in his stories, his prayers, and his dreams for the next generation. That love, admiration, and belief he had for Cape Coast has remained deeply rooted in all his children, nieces, and nephews.

The view he loved most — from a quiet veranda, toward home.

Opening later this year, The Lawton is my way of continuing his story. Every detail, every welcome, every sunset viewed from this place will be a reflection of the values he lived by:
